When starting your Athletes on a plyometric training program you must first start with the basics. Lateral Hops and Hurdle Jumps are a great way to start. Make sure to use a low hurdle or agility bag to ensure proper technique and landing, then progress from there. The same progression should be used in both exercises, using a lower obstacle and moving towards a higher one based on execution and ability of the Athlete.
Check out the videos and add these to your program. As we progress our plyometric program, the exercises will get progressively more difficult and taxing on the body so make sure to monitor the total number of contacts in each session as well as continue to focus on recovery after a tough session. PTG!
